in complete, fool hunt for your approval,
an untouchable air that begins to cower
just out of sour reach for hour
upon hour
upon hour
upon hour.

What is of that poet who thoughtfully fret
over carpe-d

LIVING WITH BATS AND OWLSI live with bats and owls through
the Witching Time of Night, lit by
the Moon's haunting orb and stroked
by the lullaby of Stars, this is
my time of sweet reflections and
bittersweet introspections, with
them I listen to the innocent nature
of my heart and see with the dreamy
white of my mind, this is my time
when I converse with Silence, when
I think in color and write the color
I see, I live with bats and owls
in the Vestal stray of my gothic
home warmed by the love I harvest
inside, they are my Familiars,
they are my kindred and with them
I fly into the Haunting Time that
only I can see and feel and breathe.

The Days are

this In betweenThere it is
  that freak again
I feel it creeping in my brain
pulling nerves and tangling veins
  but won't come out
I've even hanged me from my spine
came crashing down
      every night
crack my head open so
  she'll leak out
Yet she tangles in my hair
breathing whispers in the air
  stuffing words under my skin

       "And nothing is ever wrong
  but nothing is ever right
can't you feel this In between
  is driving us insane"

BETWEEN THE SHADOW AND SOULI do not love you as if you were one of the
prideful carnations the Sun throws down, or
the arrow of topaz light that falls onto the
Sea's orgasmic swell, or even the mountain
rain that turns to mist before it meets the
Earth, full of salt and sand, oh no my love
is deeper than that, deeper than the compact
shades that kiss my mind when I think of you,
truer than the truths that can only be found
in the handful of earth I was molded from.

I love you as the plant that only blooms in
the rich soil of my heart, blooming rich and moist
like chocolate cake saturating my mouth with
its taste, I love you without understanding
but only

SHE IS...She is all gentle gecko guile
And sweet serpent smiles;

A velvet massage of words
She wears on her heart like birds;

Against her soul's skin she weaves
Emotion from her fingers to her feet;

With the chestnut allure of her hair
She charms the Silence without a care;

In the mirror I see her wide doe-eyes
Scattering petals of every hue in the Sky;

A muse turning hurt into healing
With her pen inking out deep feeling;

She is the eclipse in a cauldron tossed
With inspiration, so eloquently flossed;

And I know her, I see her everyday,
She is me and with me she will stay.

Love meThrough silky
Nightmares
lily-white bones embrace
d e s p e r a t e l y
they tangle
clawing at each other's
ribcage
drunk with Isolation

and you're

Suffocating in
Kisses
offered by
lips blooming like
roses
And they rot so fast!
..so fast..

as I'm

Crushed by NEED
Reduced to
Fingers that
Blindly dig in flesh
looking for even the smallest
"Proof of Emotion"

But we know

Our blood stopped running
when we put our hearts to sleep.

we're just

Stuffing ourselves with
WORDS!
...

and we're still hungry

The only one left Exhaling
shades of gray
tasting
the crack of my lips
caressing bitterly
Oddly romantic

Like a death wish

Inhale
the lonely hours
endlessly ticking by
All my imaginary
friends

Lost in the fog

The smoke of the cigarette
is the
only one left

That, too, won't last for long

Look.at.me.It's only when I stand on
a stage lit by
all those eyes
that it's okay for me to
ask millions of Strangers to

we'll falllike folded paper stars hanging from starry ceilings;
our hope and love lost in between the harsh creases.

ON THE OTHERSIDE OF BREATHINGWatery angels or mermaids they seem to be,
as in their bubble of Innocence they aspire
for no more than this, with delectable sail
fins and a sphere of color that could fill
a Triton shell to overflowing, they swim from
end to end, in fluid Silence, in floating
Peace, they swim in a watery world of their
own, spreading jeweled Fire as they do, and
as Twilight spreads her darkening lapses
across my humble home and the air becomes
a cocktail of Water and Poetry and Dreams,
I love to sit in my softly lit evening room
and watch the fish swim luxuriously by.

With all of their Tranquil motions and Won-
ders and Innocence they slow do

SpeakHer words are as confused as her heart, spinning through her mind as she falls into pieces and cracks the emotion into single letters to scatter across the blackened surfaces of a place that's been broken so many times and yet still remains impenetrable to her desperate hands. It's so small and so fragile, and there are people who slip so easily into its confines, but she still batters fruitlessly on the outside and begs with all of the emptiness she feels in it's place, her hollow chest beating with the sound of irony.

Unheard TruthMy emotions are wrapped around broken fragments of words
and frustration of conversations that will never resume

I can hear the cracks in my heart slowly spreading
the breaks grow longer with every unanswered call
and unheard truth

My thoughts are cluttered and disjointed at the same time
I don't want these feelings that consume me
yet I won't distance myself from them or you

You won't let me touch your heart
I'm calling to you and you don't hear my pleas

My tears rain down on the earth
and my wounds run deep

If only you would listen and really hear
you say you want to see but your sight is blurred
I see your darkn

Croatoansometimes i reminisce about our love
and rain that pools like melted glass
in the drainpipes of my memories
with the songs that blow through wind-chimes
your voice carried through on sweet spring breezes
they ruffle my hair as i turn away to face the wall
crying out to let me go
let me be
please leave my heart in peace!

but then i reminisce about our love
like a sweet and juicy fruit that used to grow on trees
we'd pick the ripened imagery
lick metaphors from our sticky lips
and kiss away the stains of red,
sweet juices on our swollen tongues

you'd sing me out a memory
and i'd laugh and bury it beneath the roots

Burning Sky A single tree, laid bare in the winter air
Stands like an old soldier who refuses to leave his post

Winter is not here to stay,
The white snow, pure as the feather of the dove loses what it once held dear
Blackened and corrupted by a six month campaign,
The crow proclaims his dominion over the melting shell of winter's hulking beast
Picking at its eyes, scratching his feet upon
The mouse infested carrion

Hovering above, majestic clouds survey
A fleeting kingdom, drifting farther and farther away
As Persephone makes her return to the surface world

Dust rises up from the roadside, disgruntled spirits wish to carry on

THE GOOD NIGHTThe good Night walks in Beauty
as yet unknown, but waiting for
the sweet discovery of Self,
she heals with melody and prose
too sweet to be seen, her essence
can only be felt in the silvery
Silence that speaks to the open
heart, when the raven sings and
the Moon spreads her gossamer
wings upon some distant shore,
it is the Darkness that welcomes
in the lonely and the alone and
me, those who live without armor
encasing their hearts, those who
feel deeply and love even deeper,
the Dark welcomes them into her
season of what is impossible and
what should not be, where Dreams
wait to be dreamed and Hope is
eternal, as eternal as

Sunflowers

Strange dreams seem to
    creep out
through the cracks of my lips
   Keep them away from
               rays of light
But under their touch
    I burst
in red and yellow
Sunflowers
watching with
         bloodshot eyes
  as they sink right through
    the floorboards into a
comatose sleep
  While whispering sweet nothings
     to each other
         they float away
in a dark ocean
Blindfolded in this
    Blackness
they desperately search for
    lullabies

I blame the band Buck-Tick for this (and many other poems). They're my source of inspiration, lately. A title, a verse, a melody. Ah, beautiful music, really...

I should also blame those strange moments of "insanity" that creep up on me lately, but then again, it's thanks to those I can write.
