INTUITIONBlazing sweet, illuminating the freedom
that I can only find when Daytime is
extinguished and the Night is embraced,
I hear a voice only my ears can comp-
rehend, coiling and uncoiling I hear
it speak from those dark places within
me that only I know of, burning, sweetly
burning, igniting like a Star within my
womb, I hear this voice speak to me,
full of wisdom and consciousness, it
begs to be heard, and unable to deny
my shadowself I embrace it and love it,
holding it to me like a mother does
her child, I know it will never forsake
me through the stressed toils of living
life, for this voice is my inner deity,
my naked self,

The only one left Exhaling
shades of gray
tasting
the crack of my lips
caressing bitterly
Oddly romantic

Like a death wish

Inhale
the lonely hours
endlessly ticking by
All my imaginary
friends

Lost in the fog

The smoke of the cigarette
is the
only one left

That, too, won't last for long

Not without a fight I can't fly now.
It's not like I ever could.
Look, I break apart
on the way down

Promise I won't dream.
I'm too afraid to dare.
So why am I still kissing frogs,
looking for somewhere safe..

Really, I can't believe.
I'm not a child anymore!
Brittle voices say they'll hold me
..but I'm not there at all..

Saying I don't want
hands to catch me, as I fall.
Yet I reach out,
hoping there's something to trust in

Because, just maybe..

Crushed on the rocks
or lost in blue

I won't go down quietly

DEAR APRILDear April how are you? Did you slumber
well in your fasting repose? While in the
bed of Mother Nature's bountiful bosom
did you dream of your perennial return?
Nothing could have gladdened my heart as
much as when I saw your footprints in the
soft supple Earth and knew you were coming
to grace us with your yearly visit, the
world has been homesick for you and your
familiar song, the Darling of Spring.

Dearest April, your docile eyes persuaded
Winter to take his fashionable leave so
you may pass through the threshold where
cherry blossoms blow stronger than Winter's
last shivering breath, and the youngling
green is budding pret

SCARLET FLOWERFilling me with Light and Fire,
filling me with the slow simmer
of Desire, I still feel your
current ravish through me and
ignite my body's scarlet burning,
my lips are now cold and ache
to know the heat of yours again,
the full bloom of your kiss
that left me shamelessly naked,
no other clothing do I desire
than this for your kiss is the
only clothing I ever wish to
wear, like the most precious
blossom of late Summer so did
your kiss blossom upon my mouth,
and I will wear it upon me like
the branding of a Scarlet Flower.

ON THE OTHERSIDE OF BREATHINGWatery angels or mermaids they seem to be,
as in their bubble of Innocence they aspire
for no more than this, with delectable sail
fins and a sphere of color that could fill
a Triton shell to overflowing, they swim from
end to end, in fluid Silence, in floating
Peace, they swim in a watery world of their
own, spreading jeweled Fire as they do, and
as Twilight spreads her darkening lapses
across my humble home and the air becomes
a cocktail of Water and Poetry and Dreams,
I love to sit in my softly lit evening room
and watch the fish swim luxuriously by.

With all of their Tranquil motions and Won-
ders and Innocence they slow do

LIVING WITH BATS AND OWLSI live with bats and owls through
the Witching Time of Night, lit by
the Moon's haunting orb and stroked
by the lullaby of Stars, this is
my time of sweet reflections and
bittersweet introspections, with
them I listen to the innocent nature
of my heart and see with the dreamy
white of my mind, this is my time
when I converse with Silence, when
I think in color and write the color
I see, I live with bats and owls
in the Vestal stray of my gothic
home warmed by the love I harvest
inside, they are my Familiars,
they are my kindred and with them
I fly into the Haunting Time that
only I can see and feel and breathe.

The Days are

FALLENI"m so tired of being suppressed by the whispers of my childhood fears,
once I was clean, so pristine-until love led my Purity into a dirty gauze,
now I cry for what was never appreciated, my virginity-Yesterday's sear,
so I linger on with my tearful regret, I try not to fall into her jaws.

I peel back the concrete and tear apart my skin's bloody seams,
searching for a glimpse of flesh, seeking to reclaim my virtues red,
but all I liberate are echoes evaporating on my tongue, with moonbeams
I killed my immortality, and watched as from me it slowly bled.

I feel like I'm fading into the forgotten mist of fairytale flings,
where mermaid

BLACK SHEEPLittle black lamb, can you feel my heartbeat
against your wear of midnight fleece? Can you
feel my rhythm enhance our exchange of fragility?
We are two black sheep holding the Night
within us, creating in this nocturnal nativity
a dark date that knows the space that exists
between the silk and the shadow, it is here
we momentarily meet, frozen, I know your name.

Little black lamb, in silver silence we thawed
together and shared a moment of dew, we counted
the eyes of white light blessing the dark and
us living below in mortal duress, I do not need
them tonight nor the white wool of your sibling's
uncut shepherd flow, my favorite

WITHIN MY KEEPSAKE HEARTI must be careful not to let the slipper
of my love show, the world must never know,
what we share is too precious, too fragile
like scarce china, caution is the breath
we must breathe, I must take care not to
let the secret jewel you weaved between
the fine threads of my soul shine through,
about us the world must never know.

If I looked at you with tender eyes, tender
as clover, if I coyly threw back my silken
locks, silky as these Nights of deep longing,
if I sweetly smiled at you, sweet as dewy
poetry, and if I talked to you creamier than
hot toffee, would people know? Would they

changing interchangeably like chameleons
do, the Sun glances off my shifting hues
as I perch on a nimble grapevine, camou-
flaged by leaves and light, I cast my
shadow upon the Earth below, my Days
breathe low and my Nights shine high,
wet in the expansion of my Sight, the
cool fearful reigns snap away from my
spirit, snapping back to the host of
Darkness and the people who cannot see

conceived in a Dream and the forest that

THE GOOD NIGHTThe good Night walks in Beauty
as yet unknown, but waiting for
the sweet discovery of Self,
she heals with melody and prose
too sweet to be seen, her essence
can only be felt in the silvery
Silence that speaks to the open
heart, when the raven sings and
the Moon spreads her gossamer
wings upon some distant shore,
it is the Darkness that welcomes
in the lonely and the alone and
me, those who live without armor
encasing their hearts, those who
feel deeply and love even deeper,

season of what is impossible and
what should not be, where Dreams
wait to be dreamed and Hope is

Teachings of a lifetime gone
Wasted on a soul
An aimless wandering spirit
No dreams or fears or goal

A rumble in the distance roused me from my sleep. It was early in the morning, my digital clock read 4:15 AM and I still had a few more hours of magnificent slumber left before I had to force myself out of a warm bed and into a cold Friday morning. I pulled back the curtains of the window above me and looked into the sky, wondering what kind of a day it was going to be. Despite the shroud of night holding steadfast, I could see the discordant underside of a cumulonimbus cloud with its base gently illuminated by the city lights of Sydney. CROCODILE BY THE NILEWhere the lilies grow by the Nile there lies
a crocodile-a river Dragon-a reptilian Pharaoh-
these are her many names but whatever poets
choose to call her she reigns by the Nile's
shore, enamelled by the turquoise and pearl
of its antique depths, she sleeps and waits
with eyes that are always awake and iron jaws
to catch the pale pulpy souls of her prey,

A long time ago
  gentle winds
    caressed us to sleep
in our glass cradles

Since then we put together
    an endless Night Sky
a dream at a time

a map to
navigate us
     far, far away

Looking in this boundless world
for He who
   lost like us
still believes we will
meet, someday

      Someday

and like mad stars
   we will take off

  to a distant dawn
